Blaq Carrie was nominated in 2012 and 2013 to participate in an independent music research project called the 100 Song Project. After releasing a first single ‘Let There Be Hope’ in 2013 she experienced a breakout year, winning the Triple J Unearthed Spring Hip Hop Festival competition and seeing her single, “Let There Be Hope, feat. Adam George,” win the Queensland Music Award ‘Best Urban Song’ and the Australian Independent Award and Music Video Award as well. Zan Rowe and Richard Kingsmill both gave the track a 4/5 rating on BC’s Unearthed page. BC performed at the Australian festival Big Sound and The Guardian named Blaq Carrie one of the 10 Buzzy talents from Big Sound to watch. 2016 she released another single ‘Lemme Ride’ which got heavy rotation on triple J radio accompanied with an amazing video. Currently working on her debut album to be released when finished. Born and raised in Zimbabwe now based in Brisbane, Australia.
